Blogging about technology and randomness since 2002

Hello again!

It’s been a busy couple of weeks, which is why it’s been a while since I’ve been able to blog about anything.

August is always a busy month at work. I work at a university, and with the A-level results being published last week there’s the usual last-minute scramble for remaining places in Clearing. Although I did end up working 6am until 7pm on Thursday, I haven’t needed to put in quite so many extra hours this year which has been refreshing. In particular, I wasn’t need to work on Sunday for the first time in a couple of years.

This has meant that we’ve been able to move forward with the house, as I’ve had more free time than anticipated. I’ll write a separate blog post about this later in the week but we’re edging closer to being able to move in. It’s still likely to be a few weeks though.

My full driving license has arrived, after I passed my test earlier this month. I still haven’t got a car of my own yet but I should hopefully be able to buy one in a few weeks’ time. We’re going to a wedding in early October, and being able to drive there would make things much, much easier.

Christine is doing okay with her pregnancy. She’s just shy of 20 weeks now, so we’re approximately at the half-way stage. She’s due another scan soon.

Finally, I had my first ever encounter with a raccoon recently. They’re not indigenous to Britain and so I’d never seen one in real life before. Here’s a photo of it.
