Happy New Year!

Christmas Tree Bokeh I’m a bit late with this, but, I hope you had a happy new year’s eve and the start of 2013 has been good to you.

My illness is finally clearing – it’s funny how you get better just as you go back to work isn’t it? Still not 100% but getting there.

For us, 2013 will be a big year, thanks to the ‘Big W’ approaching in four months time – not the defunct chain of large Woolworths stores, but the Wedding. We’re mostly there with planning but still have some people to invite, a few bits to sort out and lots more money to pay.

And then afterwards will be the honeymoon, or rather ‘mini-moon’ as we’re keeping it small and relatively cheap. The actual honeymoon will most likely be in 2014, allowing us to save up for a bigger and better holiday. It’ll also allow friends to contribute to the cost, should they wish; something that we can’t necessarily rely on for a holiday straight after the wedding.

As well as our own wedding, we’ve been invited to at least one other wedding of two of our friends, which is a few weeks before ours. As many of our friends are the same age as us, I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up at a number of other peoples’ weddings by the time the year finishes in 361 days time.

Other than weddings and holidays, I suppose this year will be business as usual. We’re not planning on moving house, although it’s not out of the question. One of us may pass our driving test this year and get a car. And we’ll probably still be in the same jobs by the end of the year. But who knows?
