As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I am trying out a wireless broadband dongle from 3, which is being loaned to me by 3MobileBuzz. Since I should be blogging quite a bit about the dongle and wireless broadband, I wanted to provide this to answer any questions you might have.
So what is the deal?
Essentially, the deal is this:
- 3MobileBuzz give me a USB mobile broadband dongle and USIM card free for 3 months
- In return, I agree to use it, and blog about my experiences, as well as their new pricing structure and text packages. In other words, they give me the goods, I create the buzz.
So you’re now basically a sell-out?
If by ‘sell out’ you mean ‘blogging about specific topics in return for shiny things’, then yes. However, the most important thing is that I retain my editorial integrity – in other words, while I am encouraged to blog about certain things I don’t necessarily have to be positive about them, just honest. So if the product totally sucked, then you’d know about it. Thankfully it doesn’t but I will be discussing some of the more minor flaws.
Does this mean that every entry for the next 3 months will be about this dongle?
No. I’m aiming to do the following:
- There will be no more than 1 post on this subject per day
- I will not post 2 consecutive entries on this subject
This means it is an incentive to get me blogging properly again (seeing as I only managed 6 entries in the whole of March) and means that if you’re not interested in mobile broadband then there is at least something else to read.
Will you be trying out any other products in this way?
Right now, no. I have previously tried the 3 Skypephone for the 3MobileBuzz people and given my feedback, but I am not aware of any other products that may come along. I also won’t be able to compare other broadband dongles, so sorry Greg.
