- Made my first phone call on our BT line in months
- Used the internet on my Mac for the first time
- Ordered 2MB broadband from PlusNet (should be active end of next week)
- Not been on a night out
- Attended a talk with the vice chancellor
- Got to keep my PDA for another couple of months
- Upgraded to iTunes 6 and was totally underwhelmed
- Was re-elected as a union councillor
- Played around with my new phone
- Unblocked a toilet while drunk
- Watched and reviewed American Pie presents Band Camp
- Remembered just how damn slow dial-up is
- Upgraded to Firefox and Thunderbird 1.5 beta 2
- Watched The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on More4 every day, and mostly enjoyed it
- Not had a curry

PlusNet – bad move, very bad move. If you want to do anything except web and email prepare for slower speeds than dial-up.
MinusNet is rapidly becoming the worst ISP in the UK (yes, worse than BT, AOL or Tiscali)

That’s strange. I was with PlusNet until I moved out of my old house in June and I’ve had nothing but praise for them. I know they’ve seen an increase in subscribers but I can’t imagine their service has detoriated that much in the time since.
They also seem to be quite active in the newsgroups and forums answering legitimate complaints. I know they now cap certain types of traffic at peak time but then I tend not to download lots of stuff and almost never use Usenet so I don’t think it’ll be a problem. Tiscali’s tech support line is terrible so there’s no way I’m going back to them
