FridayQ: Help

This week it’s all about helping people.

What happened the last time you needed help?

I regualarly need help at work – as a temporary member of staff I don’t have my own computer login or code for the photocopier, so every time I need to log on or do some photocopying I have to get someone to do it for me. It’s a little annoying.

What happened the last time you helped somebody else?

A visiting friend lost her brand new iPod Mini (blue) in our house, so I helped turn the place upside down trying to find it. After at least 20 minutes of frantic searching (this was an iPod Mini, remember), one of my housemates remembered that he’d hidden it as a joke, but had forgotten this fact until then. In any case, it was on top of one of the curtain rails.

What happened the last time you helped yourself?

Last night I needed help with some PHP code, so I used the PHP Manual. I was learning about how to connect and communicate with a PostgreSQL database.

FQ ASSIST: Do something to help somebody today!

Got a few extra dollars? Donate it to the Tsunami Relief Efforts (like the Red Cross at Amazon) or some other worthy cause. Don’t have a few dollars to spare? Take a minute and use a FREE “click-to-donate” site (like The Hunger Site) or other worthy activity. How did you help today?
I wanted to order some ‘Make Poverty History’ armbands today, actually, but Oxfam’s online store wasn’t liking my Switch card for some reason (strange because it worked at Tesco Jersey and the Lloyds TSB cash machine yesterday). It doesn’t expire until the end of April. I might go to town later and get some from Oxfam there.
