The Musical FridayQ

The FridayQ has made it to the second week, and this time the topic is music. See also answers from Ryan and Dave.

FQ1: Do you play any musical instruments or have any musical talents? Whose musical talent would you most like to have?

I can play Chopsticks on the keyboard and that’s about it, but I can sing reasonably well, though I’ve never had professional training for it. It’d be nice to be able to play the guitar or the piano too, but I don’t really have the time or the patience to learn. I suppose I’d like to be able to sing properly, like Will Young or somebody.

FQ2: What was the last musical event you attended?

Well, I went out clubbing on Wednesday night, but I don’t tend to do gigs. We had a few live bands playing in Bradford back in December if that counts.

FQ3: Give it up… to which musician would you most like to have an “all access pass” for the night?

Not really sure – I don’t have an absolute favourite band right now. I suppose I’d like to meet the Red Hot Chilli Peppers though.

FQ DARE: Reveal a musical artist or group that you are embarrassed to like.

Okay, I used to be a big fan of Sash!. I even had my own unofficial web site for them for a couple of years, but it’s now disappeared off the face of the internet. I still think they’re okay but I’m not so much of a fan now.

FQ CHALLENGE: Mention the above artist or group in a comment on a non-FridayQ blog entry, then provide the permalink URL where we can find it! (No fair lying about how much you think they suck). Extra creativity points for somehow working them into a completely unrelated conversation.

I mentioned them exactly two years ago if that helps. Sascha, the front man, had his rabbit stolen and launched a small internet campaign for his return.
