Java Evangelism

Just an FYI for those of you around Bradford tomorrow – we have Simon Ritter, a ‘Java evangelist’ from Sun Microsystems, coming to do a talk about what’s new and funky in the next version of Java, and something on why Java is better than .Net. It starts at 12pm and will last for approximately 1 hour. From what I gather, he’s to Java what Robert Scoble is to Microsoft, except he’s UK-based.
It’s good to see someone field the Java corner as we’ve had several people from Microsoft all come in and push .Net technologies, so this will balance things out a little. It’ll also be interesting to see what Java2 1.5 is all about as I’ve heard there may be a new layout manager in it.
