Losing the wires

I’ve now learnt the difference between a laptop that has wireless and one that is ‘wireless ready’. The former will allow you to connect to a Wireless LAN straight off; the latter comes with a built-in antenna but you have to send it to Toshiba to get them to actually make it work. Guess which one I have ๐Ÿ™ .
Fortunately, Dabs.com have some PCMCIA cards selling for under £20 + delivery (around £1.50), so one of those will hopefully be in possesion very soon. It’s certainly better than the £50 ‘special offer’ that PC World have at the moment.

  1. I personally perfer using the internal antenna. Better signal than PCMCIA card can give, and doesn’t stick out of your laptop.
Very important IMHO. Worth the extra cash if necessary.
