Life Update

I haven’t done one of these for a while, so I thought I’d update you on how I’ve been lately.
This week may well be a difficult one. Sometime over the next few days I’ll know whether I’ve passed or failed my first year at university, and whether I’ll have to go back at the end of August to retake any of the exams. Hopefully I won’t, but I’m not complacent, particularly as it appears I may not have done quite so well as I’d hoped in one of the modules. I’m hoping it’s a problem with adding up my marks, as I was sure I did well, certainly much better than 47%. Admittedly, 47% is a pass, but when you were hoping for something near double that it is a little offputting.
The results have been published and are available at the university, but I think I’ll wait until they arrive here. Whenever that may be.
In other news, I’m looking for a summer job. I’ve registered at the York branch of Adecco, so I’m just waiting for the phone to ring. Although I have £470 left over from last year, plus £600 of savings, I would like a bit more cash for next year. And my mum doesn’t want me spending the whole summer slouched around the house, as I did last year. Even it does mean I can hang her washing out for her.
In the meantime, I do have some spare time and would be happy to do some web site design for a small fee (probably £50 tops). Drop me an email and we can talk – I take Paypal payments.
Finally, congratulations to my long-time friend Tom, who has passed his driving test first time, with 7 minor errors :). He has spent about a year learning though, and having been out with him I can tell you that he is a confident and safe driver. It’s also his 19th birthday in exactly a week’s time.
