One of the downsides of being at home…

Since I mostly watch the BBC when at Uni (since BBC1 and BBC2 are the two channels for which I get the best reception), I’ve not had to experience the horror that is daytime TV commercials. I’m watching Boomerang at the moment (it’s an off-shoot from Cartoon Network which shows the classic Warner Bros/Hannah Barbera cartoons like Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wacky Races…), and it’s full off naff adverts, including quite possibly the worst I’ve ever seen.
Now, I used to watch MTV and it’s off-shoots quite a lot, so I’m used to seeing adverts for cheap and nasty compilations of 80s music, but this one took the biscuit. It’s a compilation called Songs 4 Worship, from Time Life music, and it features all sorts of pro-Christian evangalical music from 80s artists that you’ve never heard of. Exacty the sort of music that makes me cringe.
But if you order this one, you get the second in the series for free. And, you can even audition further albums at no extra cost (they’re sent to you every month). What fun.
Err, no thanks.
