Overture buys FAST

First Altavista, now FAST – both have been bought by Overture, formally and one of my least favourite companies. Coverage by Google Weblog, SlashDot and C|Net.
My reason for hating them? They mix paid for listings in with free listings, which makes the search results less relevant. Google make their paid-for listings completely separate, so you know what has been paid for and what hasn’t, as generally the paid for results are less relevant (though I will admit to following the odd link that I’ve found useful).
Looks like the only players in the search engine market will be Overture, Yahoo and Google, pretty soon. ‘Tis a shame.
