You know when you’ve been PicSearched

A quick look at the referral logs today showed that the site is currently being crawled by PicSearch, a search engine for images. It’s remarkably like Google Image Search, but doesn’t seem to offer the same quality of results – I typed in a few obscure terms into both and Google tended to offer more pictures in the first page of results that matched what I typed.
In fact, the whole PicSearch site looks remarkably like Google. The company is based in Sweden (and gives its postal address on the site) so I doubt it’s a con. And besides, one of the reasons why Google is so successful is because of its unfussy interface, so why not take a hint from it?
