Linux uptime

An interesting page I found by way of Tony’s blog is the Linux Counter. This contains data from certain participating Linux machines about how long they have been booted for. The one at the top of the list has not been switched off for 1167.7 days – that’s over 3 years!
While my Windows XP uptime isn’t bad – I’ve managed 8 days before – I’d probably never be able to keep it running that long, due to the critical updates that would need to be applied. And the fact that I use this as a computer and not a server means I’m flicking between programs more often.
