Normal Service Will Be Resumed Shortly

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but I’ve been having more than just a few computer troubles. Well, in fact, my computer at home doesn’t work at all. Why? The monitor has died. It seems to be some internal fault, since it doesn’t turn on properly. Fortunately, my laptop will, with a bit of luck, arrive tonight, so I’ll at least have something to play with. Unfortunately, I don’t think that said laptop will have an ethernet port as standard, so I’ll obviously need to get an Ethernet PCMCIA card from PC World or somewhere. But any computer is better than no computer, though we will obviously be getting a new monitor. In fact, now seems to be one of the best times to get a CRT monitor – LCD monitors are coming down in price and becoming more popular, so the demand for CRTs has dropped, so hopefully the prices will be lower. We’ll probably go for a 17″ monitor – I can’t stand the puny 14″ efforts we have at college.
Though having said that, the machine I’m currently using at college has a positively huge 21″ screen with a 1280×1024 resolution. It’s great ๐Ÿ™‚
So yes, the laptop is ordered. We bought it online on Monday, and were even able to choose when we got it delivered, either today or tomorrow. Trouble was, it had increased in price by
