If you own an iOS device that runs iOS 7, and like free things, then make sure that you download the 12 Days of Gifts app from the App Store before Boxing Day (the 26th December).
Regular readers may wonder why I’m recommending this again – after all, I wrote about it last year too. However, last year’s was technically a different app, called ’12 Days of Christmas’ – it seems that this year, Apple has decided to drop the title of the festival from the name. If you have either version of the old app, then you can delete it, and install this one.
As well as the name change, Apple has made the gifts available in the United States for the first time. Over the past five years, the offers have only been available in Europe and in Canada.
The first gift will be available on the 26th December, and then once per day for 12 days, up until and including the 6th January 2014. Once the app is installed, you should receive a push notification each day when the gift is ready.
12 Days of Gifts is a free download for all iOS devices running iOS 7 or later.
In the meantime, Brits can get a £10 iTunes electronic gift card for £5 from Bespoke Offers, although there is limited stock available and it’s only available until tomorrow (25th, Christmas Day)
