Way too US-centric meme!
July 13, 2006 at 09:01
Only things I thought were US centric at the $2000 car, the word soda (I drink soda water anyway, so it makes sense to me) and the honor roll (honour has a u in it ffs!!).
I’ve seen much worse…
August 31, 2006 at 04:26
you guys are retarded…how is the word soda us centric? nobody over here says that.
August 31, 2006 at 04:46
It depends where you live in the US. I travel quite a lot, and hear “soda” consistently when I travel to California and the Eastern seaboard. “Pop” seems to be more regularly used in the Central and Southern States. Just like some regions say “cola” where other regions say “Coke” (even when referring to Pepsi).
To say “nobody over here says that” is simply not true. Maybe nobody where YOU are says it, but it’s a popular term in major sections of the US.
I didn’t think anything in this meme was specific to the US except using the “$$$” sign for the car price.
