Here’s an interesting meme, from Richard who got it from Dina who got it from Lost and Found Memes who got it from Shut Up Dude. You clear your address bar, type the letter ‘a’ and note down the first page that autocomplete suggests. Repeat this for the full alphabet and then share with the world the sites that turn up. Here’s mine…
- A: Amazon.co.uk. Was on there last night.
- B: My Bloglines subscriptions.
- C: Chris’ British Road Directory. Was settling an argument with someone over the A1(M).
- D: The link to download the en-gb build of Thunderbird 1.0. This doesn’t yet point to anything so it’s just there so I can monitor it.
- E: My DMOZ editor dashboard.
- F: My Flickr photostream.
- G: My Google AdSense reports screen, so that I can see how much moolah I’ve earned.
- H: Hotmail.
- I: Google Image Search. Probably because I haven’t got around to installing the Mycroft plugin for Firefox for it.
- J: This entry on amanita.net.
- K: This entry on Technical Jiggery Pokery.
- L: The change password screen on the PHP system I’ve been working on lately.
- M: This article on the Ministry of Information blog.
- N: My Movable Type homepage.
- O: Oregon State University’s FTP server – a good source of mozilla.org downloads.
- P: Pink Socks
- Q: nothing
- R: David Raynes’ weblog
- S: Staggernation’s MT plugins. This was where I got the DateTags plugin from.
- T: This TechDirt article about Bill Gates and spam.
- U: UKNova’s list of torrents. Been there quite a bit lately.
- V: A QuickTime video of an advert for the Citroen C4.
- W: This Wired News article about Spyware. Linked to here.
- X: xe.com, a useful currency conversion site.
- Y: PureJPEG, which I linked to on Smaller World recently.
- Z: An NSFW advert for a Ericsson mobile phone

Note – don’t do this on your partner’s pc, it’ll open your eyes to things you didn’t want to see.
I just did, and all the sites are covered by the categories: Console games, Ebay, sites featuring pictures of ladies (which I’m assured is not porn), sport and Sci-fi message boards/news sites.
24 sites in total covered by 5 categories. I need to have a serious word with him.

Links4U, New Year’s Day edition
Time to clear the bookmarks bar, and close some of those open browser windows without losing the reason I opened them in the first place.
